1) West Point Cadet Dress Shako, with the large hat badge. The badge has a Roman type helmet and sword on the shield with "DUTY / HONOR / COUNTRY / WEST POINT / MDCCCII / USMA" in a ribbon behind the spread eagle. The crown is leather, with black fabric plume. Felt brim, with leather hat band and visor. Two buttons on either side of the hat band marked "CADET/U.S.M.A.", with the same shield as on the badge. Leather interior lining with ties and embossed with retailer "J.W. BAILEY & SON, INC./ PHILA. PA/ EST. 1865". 2) Pre-Civil War Cavalry shako. The badge is marked "LIGHT / 1/GUARD" and surrounded by a sunburst design. Leather crown, visor, and adjustable hat band, which is attached by two buttons with crossed sabers. The brim is made of blue felt and the plume is gold colored feathers. Inside of crown has manufacturers label "FROM/ W. STOKES KIRK/ Dealer in/ Government * Goods/ GENERAL MERCHANDISE, &C./ Philadelphia".
