Description:

This is a nice example of a DWM Luger with a very low serial number "316". The top of the barrel extension is dated 1914, toggle marked "DWM", the right side of the barrel extension has the three Crown over Script proofs next to the Imperial Eagle proof. The left side of the barrel extension, front of the frame and the bottom of the barrel are marked with the matching serial number with the partial number "16" on almost all of the small components. "Bo26" over the serial number and "8,82" bore dimension below the serial number. The Imperial eagle is also marked on the top right of the barrel and on the left side of the toggle. The safety and extractor are correctly marked "GESICHERT" and "GELADEN", respectively. Straw colored small components. The sights are a fixed front and notch rear. The back strap has the stock lug. The magazine is a correct nickel plated WWI version with wood base re-numbered to match the gun and it is fitted with checkered walnut grips.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. The pistol retains 95% original blue finish with some thinning on the muzzle and side plate, and some high edge wear. There is some minor spotting on the grip straps. The small components retain 99% professionally restored straw color. The grips are very good with some moderate wear and a couple minor bruises to the otherwise crisp checkering. Markings are crisp and clear. Mechanically excellent.
