Description:

This is a very fine example of a WWII Tula production M1940 Russian Tokarev sniper rifle. The top of the receiver is marked with a "Star" over 1941 for the Tula Arsenal and the year of manufacture and the left side has the Russian serial number and Cyrillic numbering, along with a small boxed "SA" Finnish Capture and reissue proof mark. The stock and handguard are the correct wartime versions with no visible proof marks or serial number. The mount appears to be an original WWII version with the small star on the back along with a non-matching rifle serial number. The scope is a correct WWII Tokarev version that is marked on the front end with the Russian manufacturers proof mark consisting of a small single Star/Russian Hammer and Sickle/ No. 15568/1941. It is complete with an original cleaning rod, one Tokarev magazine and a small post war green Russian style sling.

Rating Definition:

Very fine overall with 85% of the original WWII blue finish remaining mostly in the protected area overall, with the exposed metal surfaces having a thinning gray patina. The trigger guard/floor plate show and old reblued finish with no visible serial number. The Stock shows an old light sanding that has been restained and the handguard retains an old varnish finish. The scope has 95% of an old arsenal reblued finish and the mount retains 90% of it's original blue finish with some spotting and small areas of light pitting in a few places. The optics are clear and the windage and elevation knobs work correctly. A nice example of a WWII Tokarev sniper rifle
