Description:

Blade front sight with a detachable hood and adjustable ladder rear sight. The Springfield barrel is marked "SA / flaming ordnance bomb / 3-13". Smooth straight grip stock with a clear boxed "JFC" cartouche on the left side and a circled "P" proof behind the later replacement Remington model 1903 trigger guard. The replaced World War II 03-A3 buttplate is checkered and has a trapdoor. All blue finish with a leather sling and a 1917 dated Springfield bayonet (marked with the number "682583") with scabbard.

Rating Definition:

Very good as assembled (see above). The receiver retains traces of original blue finish with the balance a mixed brown and gray patina with evidence of being cleaned. The remaining metal surfaces retain 80% original blue finish showing some thinning to a gray (more extensive on the trigger guard and floor plate). The re-oiled wood is good with the exception of two long gashes on the buttstock (right side) and some minor dings and scratches. The bayonet is fine with 80% original blue finish thinning to a gray.
