Description:

U.S. Navy Colt Model 1911 from a lot of 1000 shipped to the U.S. Navy Yard, Brooklyn, N.Y. on May 1 1912. the pistol has the "fine finish" blue. Approved by the Ordnance department on March 23, 1912. Rounded rear sight, early short hammer, safety lock with thin thumb piece. Two-tone magazine with lanyard loop and oil finished, checkered walnut grips. The right side of the slide is marked "MODEL of 1911 U.S. NAVY" and the left side is marked with the "1897, 1902, 1905" and 1911 patent dates in two un-equal lines followed by "Colts P.T.F.A.MFG.Co./ HARTFORD C.T. U.S.A." in a two line block with the Rampant Colt trademark (in circle) located behind the slide serrations. The left side of the frame has "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" marked ahead of the trigger guard and the encircled WGP monogram. "No. 2811" on right side of frame in front of slide stop hole. The back of the barrel is marked with a H inspectors mark.

Near mint as professionally restored by the Premier Colt Automatic restoration specialist. Steve Moeller, Fulton, Illinois. Moeller Colt restorations are very detailed to look like they just came out of the Colt Shop in the year manufactured.
