U.S. Colt Army Model 1901 Double Action Revolver

The top of the barrel is marked with the two line Hartford address and patent date (1884-1895) markings with "COLT D.A. 38" on the left side and a "P" and "RAC" on the underside. "RAC" is also present on the bottom of each grip, faintly on the left side of frame and on the rear cylinder face. "3216" marked on the cylinder release, frame and crane, with "K" on the cylinder release and crane. The back strap is marked "D / 33" and the left grip is stamped "BATTERY B". The butt is marked "U.S./ ARMY/ MODEL / 1901 / No / 173 / 216" and has a lanyard ring.

ConditionVery fine. The revolver retains at least 85% of the bright original high polish blue finish with the beginnings of a brown patina, gray on the high edges and smooth brown patina on the grip straps. There is a chipped toe and a minor dent on the bottom, otherwise the grips are fine with some minor dings and scratches. The grip inspector markings are mostly intact. Cylinder does not rotate when action is cycled.
