Left ricasso is marked "V (crown) R/JOSEPH RODGERS & SONS/6 NORFOLK STREET/ SHEFFIELD/ *+". Two piece stag handle, with two grip rivets at top and bottom of full tang handle and a escutcheon on left side. Leather sheath, with metal tip and throat, with leather belt loop and a taped note marked "WM BESWICK/ CARRIED IN THE CIVIL WAR 1861" on the left side. Includes National Archives research listing the knife as having belonged to William Beswick, Co. G 17 Illinois Infantry. OAL: 15".
