Spectacular U.S. R. Johnson Model 1836 Flintlock Pistol

Produced by Robert Johnson of Middletown, Connecticut. Brass blade front and groove rear sights, with "U.S./ JH/ P" on the upper left flat of the barrel, "P" on the left side, and "U.S./ R. JOHNSON/ MIDDn CONN/ 1840" on the lock plate below the brass flash pan. Smooth stock, with a swivel ramrod, steel fittings, and "J.H." and "M.P.L." cartouches on the left side.

ConditionExcellent, bright original metal overall with a pleasing patina overall. The lock and frizzen retain 98% plus original dark case colors, with a smooth dark patina on the hammer. The stock is excellent with only a few minor dings and handling marks, and crisp excellent cartouches. Mechanically excellent. If you want to have one exceptional example of the last U.S. martial flintlock issued, here it is!
