In addition, the plaque shows the bust images of the founders: William Hepburn Russell, Alexander Majors, & William B. Waddell. The plaque depicts the Pony Express rider on horseback following the route from St. Joseph, Missouri to Sacramento, California. The plaque is signed underneath the Pony express logo Marian Breckenridge, with the foundry stamp of Frank Hays metal works, Sonoma, California on the obverse and measures 16 1/2 inches diameter.
