Winchester Model 1897 Takedown Slide Action Shotgun

Manufactured in 1953. Single steel bead sight, the left rear of the barrel is marked with the standard two line address, trademark marking followed by "MODEL 97 - 12 GA. - 2 3/4 CHAM. / FULL", with the Winchester oval proof on top of the barrel at the breech and offset to the left on top of the receiver. Matching serial number on the bottom of the frame and takedown ring, and mounted with a 14 groove forearm and smooth pistol grip stock with a checkered hard rubber Winchester buttplate. Length of pull is 13 3/4".

ConditionNear excellent with 90% original blue finish remaining. There is some light muzzle wear and finish loss on the magazine tube and ahead of the magazine on the bottom of the barrel from normal usage. There is some thinning on the trigger guard and some high edge wear as well as a few minor dings on the receiver. The wood is very good with some overall scattered minor dings and scratches. The markings are crisp and clear. Mechanically fine.
