Extremely Rare Early Stoneware Sow Pig Flask Marked "Anna Union Co. Ills" Circa 1860's

Extremely rare Sow Stoneware pig flask with incised eyes and large snout incised on the side with: "Good Old Bourbon in a hogs _" pointing to the rear of the pig. Marked on the bottom underneath the chin of the pig "Anna Union Co Ills". Many pig flask that resemble this early form are not marked and are made in the form of a boar, whereas this example is a sow. This pig provides the benchmark in validating the unmarked versions of early Anna Pottery pig flasks. H 3", W 7", D 2 1/2"

ConditionThe condition of the pig flask is very fine with exception of a chip on the right hear and a small chip on the snout.
