Introduced in 1945. This pistol features floral scroll and punch dot background engraving on the barrel frame, slide and back strap done by High Standard Master Engraver Mike Gouse. The pistol retains the standard markings. The pistol is accompanied by a hand written letter from Mike Gouse on his letter head, dated 06/28/96. The letter states that although not " 'Factory' Engraved they were engraved by me during my tenure as Factory engraver for High Standard of Houston, Texas." He also states that the engraving is actually a step above the factory "D" engraving. Both pistols in this lot are the two referred to in the letter and identified by serial number. Blade front and adjustable rear sights, serrated trigger, checkered hammer, two tone magazine and fitted with checkered walnut grips.

Professionally refinished and embellished with 95% blue finish remaining, showing some thinning on the grip straps and trigger guard and some high edge wear. The grips are very good with some scattered minor bruises, nicks and dents, with crisp checkering, The markings and engraving are clear and crisp. Mechanically excellent.

As "A" with 4 1/2" barrel.

Professionally refinished and embellished with 85% blue finish remaining. The back strap has a smooth brownish patina and the front strap shows some thinning. The grips are very good with some scattered minor dents, nicks and bruises. The markings and engraving are clear and crisp. Mechanically excellent.
