A) Springfield Model 1879 Trapdoor Rifle

Blade front and adjustable rear sights, "V P eagle head P" marking on the left rear of the barrel, "U.S./ MODEL/ 1873" on the low arch breechblock, "Eagle/shield" motif with "U.S. / SPRINGFIELD" on lock plate, and 3-click tumbler. Stock has a "SWP / 1884" cartouche, a circled "P" and "US" marked buttplate.

ConditionGood. The rifle retains traces original blue finish with the balance a smooth brown patina overall. The silvered out breechblock and tang retain original case color pattern. The sanded and revarnished stock is good with a couple filled repairs and some minor pressure dents and dings. Mechanically excellent.

B) Springfield Armory Model 1888 Ramrod Bayonet Trapdoor Rifle

Buffington rear and blade front sights, ramrod bayonet and smooth buttplate with trapdoor. "V P eagle head P" proof and inspection marks on barrel with "A" on top at breech, "US/MODEL/1884" marked breechblock, and "Eagle/Shield" motif next to "U.S./SPRINGFIELD" on the lock. Oiled stock has a circle "P" proof, a boxed "SWP / 1893" cartouche, and "50" stamped near buttplate tang.

ConditionFine. The rifle retains half of the faded original blue finish with the balance a smooth brown patina with some very scattered minor spotting. The silvered out breechblock and tang retain original case color pattern with minor pitting on the tang. The stock is very fine with some minor pressure dents, dings and scratches. The cartouche is crisp and clear.
