Distinctive "Palm Protector Pistol" manufactured by the Chicago Firearms Co., of Chicago, Illinois, circa 1890. The pistol has the standard, full nickel-plated, finish with checkered, hard rubber grip plates and grip pad. The edge of the left grip plate is knurled and the right grip plate and barrel are stamped with decorative floral designs. The center of the left grip plate is stamped: "CHICAGO FIREARMS CO./CHICAGO. ILL.". The center of the right grip plate is stamped: "THE PROTECTOR/PAT. MCH.6.83> AUG 29.93". The serial number, "12085" is stamped on the rotary chamber and on the inside of the left grip plate.

Excellent. The pistol retains 98% plus of the original nickel-plated finish and appears to be un-fired. The hard rubber grip plates and grip pad have faded slightly but remain in excellent condition. The markings are crisp. The action functions excellently. This is an excellent example of the distinctive 'Chicago Palm Pistol'.
