Description:

Fixed sights, properly offset to the left, with "J.H. HALL/ H. FERRY/ US/ 1838" on the breech, "trigger" pattern breech catch and a pistol grip trigger guard. Smooth straight grip stock with button head ramrod, sling swivels and a smooth flat buttplate. With an unmarked triangular spike bayonet, 15 1/2 inches long.

Rating Definition:

Excellent, showing 98% of the original brown lacquer finish, with bayonet wear on the muzzle, a few areas of gray patina and scattered light scratches. Stock is excellent, with a few chips and pressure dents. Mechanically excellent. A top-quality, possibly unissued example of the Harper's Ferry Hall Rifle.
