The top barrel flat and the top of the receiver at the breech are marked with the Winchester oval proof. The brass cartridge elevator is marked "32 CAL". The top of the receiver tang is marked "MODEL 1873" and the serial number is on the lower tang. Rating Definition:

Fine. The rifle retains 50% original blue finish with edge wear on the barrel, with areas of smooth brown patina. There is some minor spotting on the barrel and the left side plate shows signs of some cleaning. The fine stock and forearm have been oiled, with a few very small gouges on the left rear. Overall there are a few scattered minor dings and scratches. The markings are clear and crisp. The action functions, but is slightly out of time.
