Description:

Two piece cardboard box with a light green label featuring a line drawing of a Colt Model 1878 and marked "50 / Metallic Cartridges/ 45 Cal. Central Fire / FOR/ Colt's Double and Single Action Army Revolvers. / MANUFACTURED BY THE / DOMINION CARTRIDGE CO., LIMITED, MONTREAL, CANADA, N.A." and the Dominion beaver trademark. The box is full with 50 "D C Co" stamped cartridges (three with single cannelures, the remainder with double cannelures). These cartridges were manufactured after Canada had adopted the Model 1878 for their militia.

Rating Definition:

Very fine with a partial separation along one edge and some minor age discoloration spots. The label is 95% complete with limited edge wear. The markings are clear. There are some tape repairs along the corners of the lid and remnants of the printed paper seal on the mouth of the lid. These are rare boxes to find in any condition.
