Description:

Manufactured in New York circa 1920s this is the only Reising this writer has viewed that is a factory engraved specimen. Fitted with an adjustable blade front sight with ivory bead and windage adjustable rear sight. The breech end of the barrel, slide, upper frame sides, grip straps and trigger guard are engraved with floral scroll designs with a line background. Writer is sure that the work is that of William Gough, the same engraver that worked for both Savage and Colt, especially on Woodsmans. The left rear of the barrel is marked with the two line New York address, the top is marked ".22 Long rifle CTG." and the right side is marked with the two line patent information. "MNO 62090 12-317" has been electro-penciled into the bottom of the frame and the bottom of the magazine . (Writer believes these to be police evidence numbers). The bottom of the magazine is marked "REISING 22". Fitted with smooth pearl grips. Complete with brown leather tooled Heiser holster.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, with 95% plus original blue finish remaining. There is some wear on the muzzle and front sight band, as well as a few minor scratches on the barrel, and non-factory electro-penciled marks described above. There is some light spotting on the grip straps. The grips are excellent with a few very small minor dings and handling marks. The markings and engraving are clear and crisp. Mechanically excellent. The holster is very good. A couple of rawhide loop stitchings are absent, otherwise tight, there is some minor wear and scuffs, and the same number scratched into the pistol is scratched into the back of the holster.
