Colt Model 1902 Military Semi-Automatic Pistol with British Proofs

Manufactured in 1914. This pistol has the square butt, slide lock on the left side of the slide, lanyard swivel and the longer eight-round magazine that distinguish it from the Colt Model 1902 "Sporting" pistol. Features rear slide serrations, blue barrel and unmarked blue magazine. Left side of the slide is marked with the standard two block two line patent dates and Hartford address, with the Rampant Colt behind the serrations. Standard two line caliber markings on the right side of the slide. The left side of the trigger guard bow is stamped with a "P" assembler's mark on the lower rear and the Colt "VP/triangle" proofmark on the front top. The upper left rear of the slide and frame are marked with a "crown/V" British proofmark, and the barrel chamber is marked with a "crown/V" and "crown/GP" proof. Fitted with checkered hard rubber grips with "COLT" in a banner at the top and the Rampant Colt in a circle in the center.

ConditionVery fine. The pistol retains 85% plus bright original high polish blue finish with finish loss due to flaking on the slide and extensive scratches and dings overall. There is a smooth brown patina on the exposed areas. The grip straps and lower right side of the frame show some minor oxidation, and overall there are minor dings and scratches. The grips are also very fine with a few minor dents and crisp checkering. The markings remain clear and crisp. Mechanically excellent.
