Description:

This is an example of a WWII pistol as produced at the Fabrique Nationale factory in Herstal already in production before the Germans took over the plant in 1940. This pistol was produced without a letter block in the serial numbers which puts the production sometime in 1941. The left side of the slide is marked "FABRIQUE NATIONALE D'ARMES DE GUERRE/HERSTAL BELGIQUE/BROWNING'S PATENT DEPOSE". The left upper front of the trigger guard and the barrel chamber are marked with the Nazi WaA613 proof mark. The left side of the trigger is marked with a boxed "C". Matching serial number (51192) on the frame, slide, and barrel. Fixed front blade sight and tangent rear graduated to 500 meters. The back strap is cut for a shoulder stock and the pistol is fitted with checkered walnut grips. The magazine is also 613 proofed, phosphate finished with "R" and "6" stamps. Complete with a brown leather flap holster stamped E.G. Leunerg, WAA 159, 1941. Leuner (later BLA code) was a holster manufacturer in Bautzen. Includes an extra double stack Waffeamted 613 magazine, phosphate with "R" stamp. This is the only 1941 dated High Power holster we have seen and makes this as complete rig one could have from the early WAA series. The 500 meter target sighted High Power with slotted backstrap with WAA613 proof is the first accepted German pistols and the rarest of the Nazi marked HP pistols. Only roughly some 2,500-3,000 pistols were produced in the 45,000 and 50,000-53,000 serial number range. It became one of the favorite sidearms used by the Waffen SS and with their attrition rate very few early examples survived the war. The 1941 dated holster is the only one we have observed.

Rating Definition:

Excellent. The pistol retains approximately 98% plus original blue finish with some normal wear on the front edges of the slide and frame, and some minor wear and spotting on the front strap. There are a few minor scratches on the slide. The grips are very fine with a long minor pressure dent on the right panel, some light wear and crisp checkering. The markings are clear and crisp. Mechanically excellent. The holster is fine with some minor flex cracking on the flap, a few minor scuffs and tight stitching. This is the rarest of all the German produced High Power Pistols. Additional Information: as noted this pistol has a matching frame, slide and barrel.
