Exceptional WWII Walther (ac) Nazi G43 Semi-Automatic Rifle with ZF4 Sniper Scope, Mount and Accessories

This is an excellent example of a late 1944 semi automatic G/k 43 rifle that still retains the earlier G43 series markings as manufactured by the Walther factory. This rifle has the standard late pattern rough forged receiver, with the single bolt guide. The left side of the receiver is marked: "G43/eagle/359/serial number/ac 44", with the right side carrying only a small "eagle/359" Waffenamt proof. It has the type three bolt carrier, with the hollow cocking knob, and hold open latch on the right side, with small reinforcing web on top of the carrier. It is fitted with the stamped sheet metal action cover with the sliding dust cover and the scope rail on the right side of the receiver. It is fitted with the correct wartime laminated stock and hand guard with a single "eagle/359" Waffenamt proof on the left side of the stock below the sling slot with a small "eagle/359" proof in the pistol grip area. As noted this rifle has been fitted with an original WWII ZF 4 scope and Walther proofed scope mount. The scope is marked "Gw ZF 4/29015/ddx" the wartime code for the Voigtlander & Sohns factory in Braunschweig, followed by a small triangle, (the triangle paint has faded) and the scope is complete with a set of the original black leather lens caps. The mount is a mid or late war version that still has the squared ends with two different serial numbers (29015/8714) on each end. One matches the scope number, the other to another G43. The mount scope and bands all have the phosphate finish with a blued locking lever with a single eagle359 Waffenamt proof in the center of the mount. The rifle is complete with the original sheet metal front sight cover, an original field manual and spare parts kit in the butt trap, original blued cleaning rod, an original smooth brown leather sling, and a two-tone "gcb" WAA 892 K43 magazine. The body of the magazine is phosphate and the floor plate a dark blue, giving it a desirable look, with a "k" stamp on the floorplate and "gcb", "WaA892 (twice)" and "K43" on the left side of the main body. When the magazine is detached from the rifle one can see that the top quarter of the magazine were it fitted into the rifle is distinctively brighter. There is no doubt that the magazine was always there and the first time the writer has observed this on a K43.

ConditionExcellent plus, unissued, with 99% plus of the original wartime finish on the metal parts with only minor edge and high spot wear overall. The stock and hand guard are both in excellent condition with a clear distinct Waffenamt on the left side, with some minor handling marks, and scratches on the sides and underside of the butt stock, with some minor discoloration on the left side. There is a 3 inch age crack (separation of the laminations) on the underside of the buttstock directly in front of the buttplate, with a small one just starting on the underside of the forend just behind the front band/nose cap. The scope and mount are both in excellent condition with 99% of the phosphate finish with nice clear optics. The leather sling and various accessories are all in excellent condition. The rifle has matching numbers on the visible parts except for the scope mount itself as noted above. An exceptional example of a later WWII G43 rifle with original Zf4 scope and mount.
