Extremely Rare Winchester Experimental Model 59 14 Gauge Semi-Automatic Shotgun

This is an excellent example of an extremely rare experimental 14 gauge Winchester Model 59 shotgun with only 4 or 5 of this actual model ever produced. These 14 gauge shotguns were made for John Olin to test the experimental aluminum 14 gauge shotgun shells being made at Winchester-Western's Alton, Ill. Plant. Olin owned Winchester-Western and, coincidentally, his Nilo Farms shooting preserve was also at Alton. There is a single brass bead sight and the barrel is equipped with a modified screw-in choke. All blue finish and mounted with a checkered walnut forearm and pistol grip stock with a black plastic checkered Winchester buttplate. This shotgun is formally from the Peter and Patty Murray collection and carries it's original collection tags.

ConditionExcellent. The shotgun retains 99% plus original blue finish with a few overall minor dings and light handling marks on the barrel and wood, with very crisp checkering. The action is excellent. A very nice, extremely rare experimental 14 gauge Winchester Model 59 shotgun.
