A specialized weapon of the Landsknecht mercenaries, men who could master the Zweihander earned the title of "Dopplesoldner". Measuring approximately 61 1/4 inches, the double-edged spear point blade is 47 inches, with crescent shaped designs in the single fullers, light engraving around a pair of upturned 4 3/4 inch parrying hooks, and a series of cut-through dots in the square cut ricasso. Solid cross guard, 12 3/4 inches across, flaring slightly at the tips, with a leather wrapped two handed grip section and a round disc pommel. Overall weight is 5 7/20 pounds. Unsure of age or origin!
