Manufactured in 1861, the first year of production. The top of the barrel is marked "-ADDRESS SAML COLT HARTFORD CT-" and the left side of the frame is marked "COLTS / PATENT". The patent date is marked on one of the cylinder flutes. Visible numbers match. Fitted with a smooth one piece varnished walnut grip.

Very fine. The barrel retains 95% original blue finish and the cylinder retains 60% original blue finish (mostly in and around the protected areas) with the balance a brown patina. The frame and loading lever retain 80% original case colors. The grip straps retain 97% plus original silver plating. The grip is excellent with most of the varnish remaining and some minor handling marks.
