Exceptional U.S. 187th Glider Infantry Regiment Uniform Grouping

1) 187th Glider Infantry Regiment Ike jacket size 36R with U.S. and Army lapel discs and private chevron on both sleeves. Left shoulder has the airborne tab over an 11th Airborne patch and the right shoulder has a 187th Glider Infantry combat patch. The right chest has a Ruptured Duck discharge badge and a Presidential Unit Citation. A pin back airborne wing is attached to a yellow oval shaped piece of fabric stitched to the left chest. The right chest also has a WWII victory medal and a Combat Infantryman Badge is pinned to the left breast pocket. Hand marked "B-9515 / BYU550" on the lining. 2) Shirt size 14-32 with tie. 3) Trousers hand marked "C.D.E.-1530299" on the inside. With canvas belt. Made from Japanese WWII material for their Airborne. 4) Very scarce khaki airborne jump jacket with belt. Also Japanese made, from their WWII uniform material. 5) Scarce olive drab airborne jump jacket with wool liner. 6) Overseas cap with a parachute infantry patch. 7) Corcoran jump boots. 8) Shaving kit case with 11th Airborne insignia. 9) Web holster rib with a Enger-Kress holster dated 1942. With dual magazine pouch with two all blue Model 1911 pistol magazines. 10) One-of-a-kind WWII flight bag painted "EDWARD M. BRUSSO/[airborne wing]/NEW YORK" on one side and "187 P/G INF" flanked by 11th Airborne and 187th Glider Infantry insignia over a glider wing over "SAPPORO JAPAN". The top has a airborne forces insignia decal and a parachute infantry insignia decal. Assigned to the 11th Airborne Division, the 187th Glider Infantry landed on Bito Beach on Leyte in November 1944 and participated in the counterattack at San Pablo airstrip. The airstrip had been attacked by Japanese paratroopers and during this battle to take back the airstrip, the 1st Battalion of the 187th captured the Japanese paratroop flag. Today the flag hangs in the West Point Museum. The 187th went on to fight in Japanese positions at Anonang and advance on to Manila. When the war ended, the 187th was the first foreign combat unit to enter Japan. The shaving kit contains: parachute/glider infantry overseas cap patch, 11th Airborne and 1st Allied Airborne corps shoulder patches, photo of a B-24, assorted WWII currency (U.S. one dollar silver certificate, Japanese occupation peso, Italian, Chinese, Germany bank notes) and two small American flags.

A pocket snap is missing. 6) Good, with a few large stains. 7) Fair, with age cracking and scuffs. 8) Very good, with some minor handling marks. 9) Very good. Holster has minor flex wear. 10) Good, with some minor stains and a missing handle. 90% of the paint remains.
