Late Production Winchester Model 1885 Low Wall Single Shot Rifle

Manufactured in 1920. The upper left barrel flat ahead of the rear sight is marked with the two line Winchester address, "25-20 SS" at the breech and the serial number is marked on the lower tang. Number 1 octagon barrel with a blade front sight with brass bead and semi-buckhorn rear sight, blue barrel with casehardened remaining parts, and mounted with a smooth forearm with ebony forend insert and straight grip stock with crescent buttplate.

ConditionVery good. The barrel retains 70% original blue finish with areas thinning to a plum patina, edge wear and overall some scattered minor pitting. There are a few dings on the left rear of the barrel. The receiver has a smooth silver gray patina and the lever has a smooth mottled gray patina. The wood is very good as re-oiled. There are a number of small dings on the left side of the forearm in the area of the dings on the barrel, otherwise only a few minor dings and handling marks overall. The markings are clear and crisp. The action is very good.
