This rifle was manufactured in 1900 with a fixed silver front sight and an elevation adjustable semi-buckhorn rear sight. The top barrel flat is marked "MANUFACTURED BY THE/WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN CONN. U.S.A.", over the chamber "25-20 S.S." and on the underside in front of the forearm "1". Chambered in the 25-20 Single Shot cartridge which is slightly longer than the 25 WCF. Thick side round top receiver. Mounted on a smooth Schnabel forearm with ebony forend insert and a straight grip stock with crescent steel buttplate.
