Description:

Often referred to as the Winder Musket after the acclaimed marksman Colonel C.B. Winder. Manufactured circa 1922. Standard blade front sight and Lyman receiver peep sight adjustable for windage and elevation. Left side of barrel marked with the two line Winchester address/patent dates and "22 SHORT" at the breech, as well as the Winchester oval proof. Three line Winchester trade mark on the upper tang. Mounted with a smooth full walnut forearm with finger grooves and straight grip stock with a steel carbine buttplate and sling swivels.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. The rifle retains 60% plus original blue finish with some muzzle wear, some flaking on the sides of the receiver and a smooth brown patina on the tangs. The wood is also very fine with some scattered minor dents and dings. The markings remain sharp. The action is excellent.
