Manufactured in 1899. The rifle is fitted with a Lyman blade front sight and an adjustable buckhorn rear sight with the elevator stamped with a 1901patent date. The top barrel flat is stamped with the two line New Haven address and 1894 patent date ahead of the rear sight and "38-55" at the breech. The upper tang is stamped "MODEL 1894/-WINCHESTER-/PAT. AUG. 21 1894" and the underside of the frame has the serial number. Blue finish with casehardened hammer, lever, and buttplate. Mounted on a smooth forearm and straight grip stock with a metal forend cap and crescent buttplate.

Very fine. The rifle retains 80% original blue finish showing some thinning to a brown with some light surface rust overall. There is a dent on the magazine tube on the left side near the muzzle. The lever and hammer retain 90% vivid original case colors. The wood is fine showing some minor handling marks with most of the finish remaining. Mechanically excellent.
