Description:

1) This is a brass Eagle flag standard. It is styled after the second production French flag eagle produced circa 1815 for Napoleon. The French Eagle was positioned at the top of the flag pole during battle. It is slightly crouching with its wings outstretched with the right foot resting on a decorative twist element. It was cast in two pieces and joined together. 2) Black patent leather cartridge box with a brass "N" on the front flap. There are two brass attachment points on each end. There is a brass post on the bottom with a leather loop to secure flap.

Rating Definition:

1) Fair, the eagle has some moderate wear with a mixed aged patina with the right foot detached and only one replacement screw is holding the baseplate to the eagle. The decorative twist is also detached as the screw is absent. 2) Good, pebble grain exterior with some crazing, indentions and a few small touch up spots. The brass has an aged patina.
