Description:

This is a first issue type Navy that was subsequently reworked to the second style or altered safety model, that has had the original, lower safety marked area polished out with the word "GESICHERT" remarkined in the upper position. The chamber is blank with the script "DWM" logo on the front toggle. The left side of the barrel extension is marked with two "crown/M" Navy proofs and one crown proof. The underside of the barrel is also stamped with a single "crown/M" acceptance proof and full serial number. It has the military style numbering with the full number on the major parts with the partial number "00" on the various smaller components. The crown proof is also on the left side of the breechblock and the extractor is marked "GELADEN". Standard front sight with the unique two-position, Navy rear sight marked with "100" and "200". It is complete with one non-matching Navy magazine with the nickel plated magazine body with the wooden base that has the correct concentric circles on the sides, that is numbered "512".

Rating Definition:

Very fine with 90% of the blue finish overall with wear on the high edges, on top of the chamber area and rear end of the barrel. There is also a minor isolated patch of pitting on the left front edge of the muzzle. The various small parts retain 50% straw colors with the lower grip screws having been re-stamped. The grips are in very fine condition with nice checkering showing even honest wear on the tops of the checkered diamonds with minor handling marks and nicks on both sides. A very fine example of a DWM 1906 Navy Model Luger.
