Description:

Both chits are printed on silk, with black text, red stampings, and the upper section dominated by a red, white and blue flag. As traditional, both bear text to the effect of "I am an American aviator here to fight the Japanese. I do not speak your language, but my government will compensate you for providing aid in my return", as well as a serial number to be used in claiming said reward. 1) Chinese-text blood chit, 7 3/4 inch wide by 9 3/4 inch tall, with the Nationalist flag up top, and a red seal stamp over the text. 2) Multi-lingual chit, 9 1/4 inch wide and 11 3/4 inch tall, with an American flag on top, red printed serial number, and text in French, Annamese (a dialect of Vietnamese), Thai, Lao, Chinese, Korean and Japanese. 3) Shoulder patch, 2 1/4 inch wide and 2 7/8 inches tall, with the Nationalist Sun and American Star over red and white stripes.

Rating Definition:

Both chits have turned to a light tan color, with strong creases and wear from mounting in the upper corners. The flag colors are vivid, and the primary text remains sharp. 1) Good, with the red stamp having faded to illegibility, and a few dark spots. 2) Very good, with a small tear in the lower right corner. 3) Excellent.
