Description:

Manufactured in 1888. The top of the barrel is marked with the two line address, the left side restamped "45 COLT" and the left side of the frame is marked with the three line, three patent dates. The upper left front of the trigger guard is marked "45 CAL" and the matching restamped serial number is marked on the bottom of the frame, trigger guard and back strap. The loading gate is marked with the assembly number "753". Blade front and frame notch rear sights, blue finish with casehardened frame and hammer, and fitted with checkered hard rubber Rampant Colt/American Eagle relief grips. The accompanying factory letter verifies the caliber, 4 inch barrel, blue finish, rubber grips and that it was shipped as 1 of 2 to E.C. Meacham Arms Co. St Louis. Mo. On May 1, 1888.

Rating Definition:

Very good as professionally restored. The revolver retains 70% blue finish with thinning on the front strap, barrel and areas of gray patina on the cylinder. The frame and hammer have a smooth mottled gray patina. The grips are fair with a noticeable repair crack through the grip on the center right panel, and overall showing modest wear. The markings are clear. The action is fine.
