Manufactured in 1893. This Deluxe Model 1886 rifle has been totally restored and re-chambered for the 50 Express cartridge. The top barrel flat is marked: "-MANUFACTURED BY THE- / -WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN.CONN. U.S.A.-" ahead of the rear sight and "50 EX" at the breech. The upper tang is marked "-MODEL 1886-" and the serial number is marked on the lower tang. The barrel is blue and the remaining metal surfaces are casehardened. Beaded blade front and adjustable buck horn rear sporting sight and mounted with a deluxe, nicely figured finely checkered walnut forearm and pistol grip stock with shotgun buttplate. The accompanying factory letter verifies the rifle configuration, 38/56 caliber at the time of shipment, octagon barrel, plain trigger, checkered pistol grip stock and that it was received in and shipped out of the warehouse on November 15, 1893 (order number 3315). It now has a half magazine.

Professionally restored (and rechambered to 50 express) to near mint with thin blue finish with mottled dark under tones on the barrel. And a few minor dings and handling marks on the wood. The checkering is sharp. The action is excellent.
