This silver British Military General Service Medal was awarded to Ensign Shirley of the 1st Battalion Coldstream Guards and has Nive and Nivelle clasps. Included with the medal are two belt buckles. The first is brass with a silver eight pointed star of the Coldstream guards. On top of the star is with the motto "HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE" on a blue background with a red cross in the center. The second belt buckle has a similar Coldstream star but the buckle is silver with hallmarks on the back. The medal and the two belt buckles are in a blue velvet lined fitted case with a padded silk lining on the inside of the lid.
