Desirable World War II Saginaw M1 Semi-Automatic Carbine

This is a nice example of an original, unaltered M1 carbine as produced by the Saginaw Steering Gear Company. The rear of the receiver is marked "SAGINAW S.G." over the serial number and the receiver tang is marked "SG". The front receiver is marked "US CARBINE/CAL. .30 M1", the front of the barrel is marked "SAGINAW S. G. DIV./GENERAL MOTORS" and it has the single "P" proof below that. The top rear of the front sight is marked "C-U", the right side of the 2nd Variation barrel band is marked with a triangle and the magazine release is marked "M". Flip-up rear sight, flat top parkerized bolt, blue magazine marked "KSG" and mounted with a low wood walnut pistol grip stock with matching two rivet handguard with oval oiler and stamped with a crossed cannon and boxed "SG" cartouche on the right side. Complete with a green canvas sling.

ConditionExtremely fine. The carbine retains 90% original parkerized finish showing some minor normal usage wear. The magazine has a rubber boot on the lower 1/3 and retains 95% original blue finish. The wood is also excellent with a few minor dings, (mainly on the forend), and handling marks. The markings are clear. The action is excellent. The sling is excellent.
