Description:

An exceptional example of a post WWI manufactured/DWM Model 1920 commercial semi-automatic pistol. The top of the chamber is blank, the front toggle link is marked with the "DWM" logo. The left side of the barrel extension, the underside of the barrel and the left side of the toggle link are all marked with the commercial "crown/N" proofmark. There are no "Germany" export stamps on this example. The front of the frame and the underside of the barrel both have the military style four digit serial number with the letter suffix. This example has matching numbers, the last two digits "49" marked in the commercial style on the small parts that are numbered, the bottom edge of the takedown lever, bottom of the side plate and just below the rear sight. This gun has the standard fixed sights, blue finish and straw finish small parts. The grips are checkered beech, there is a stock lug on the back strap and it has a plated sheet steel magazine with a wooden base, which is marked "GERMANY" across the bottom.

Rating Definition:

Excellent plus with 99% original blue finish and 98% straw finish on the small parts, showing some minor sharp edge wear, with crisp original proofs and markings. The grips are also excellent, showing minor handling wear with some compressions on some of the points of the checkering. Mechanically excellent.
