Description:

Brass blade front sight on barrel, which is marked "US/WN/P" on the upper left side, "JH" on the left flat and "1851" on the tang. The lock plate is marked "US/H.ASTON&CO." in front of the hammer and "MIDDtn/CONN/1851" at the tail. Equipped with a swiveling ramrod. Small "H" proofs are visible on the brass barrel band, reverse plate, trigger guard finial and backstrap with "P" on the trigger guard. Smooth one piece walnut stock with crisp "JH" and "WAJ" oval cartouches on the left side and a round brass butt.

Rating Definition:

Fine with areas of mixed gray patina, spotting and some scattered dents. The brass shows a mixed aged patina, darker in the protected areas, with mild dents. Wood is fine, with minor sharp flats and cartouches, scratches and dings overall. Mechanically excellent.
