Manufactured in 1902 and subsequently professionally embellished with complete coverage of floral scroll engraving with a matte background. The only surface not engraved is the hammer and the front strap has full coverage of a diamond pattern. The one line address is marked on the right side of the barrel, "COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY .38 SPECIAL" on the left side, (both in a pane), and the left side of the frame is marked with the two line, three patent dates in a panel. The matching serial number is marked on the frame, trigger guard and back strap, with the assembly number "181" marked on the loading gate. All blue finish, blade front and frame notch rear sights and fitted with smooth ivory grips.
