Denver Colorado Shipped Colt Single Action Army .38 Colt Revolver with Factory Letter

Manufactured in 1928. The top of the barrel is marked with the one line address, "38 COLT" on the left side and the two line, three patent dates are marked on the left side of the frame followed by the Rampant Colt. The matching serial number is marked on the bottom of the frame and on the right side of the grip straps under the grips. The last two digits "83" of the serial number are stamped on the rear face of the cylinder. The matching assembly number, "1251" is marked on the right rear of the frame and on the loading gate. Replacement blade front and frame notch rear sights, blue with casehardened hammer and frame, and fitted with checkered hard rubber grips with the Rampant Colt in an oval at the top. The accompanying factory letter verifies the caliber, barrel length, blue finish, rubber grips and that it was shipped as 1 to Whitney Sporting Goods Co., Denver, Colorado on May 23, 1928.

ConditionFine as partially refinished. The revolver retains 70% of the original blue finish with some high edge wear, overall thinning, a drag line on the cylinder and a smooth gray patina on the back strap. The front sight is a refinished replacement. The frame retains 60% plus original case colors with a smooth gray patina on the balance. The replacement grips are very good with a couple minor dings on the bottom edge and overall moderate wear. The markings are crisp and clear. The action is excellent.
