Description:

Manufactured from 1891 to 1911, this revolver is in the scarce Mexican Model configuration, one of the only 2,000 produced identified by the spur trigger, lack of the integral frame extensions protecting the trigger, that is found on all other S&W spur trigger models and no half cock hammer position. Many of these revolvers were shipped to Mexico, Russia and South America. The top of the barrel rib is marked two line, two block address and patent dates flanking "MODEL OF 91". The matching serial number is marked on the butt, rear cylinder face, barrel latch and barrel. Pinned blade front and notch rear sights, nickel finish with casehardened hammer and fitted with smooth ivory grips.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. The revolver retains 95% original nickel finish with scattered minor blistering and flaking. The hammer retains most of the original case colors showing some minor spotting. The action needs work, the cylinder does not lock. The grips are excellent. The markings are clear. Considering that the majority of Mexican Models were shipped abroad, this model is often missing in even the most advanced Smith & Wesson collection.
