Description:

This is a desirable late production, M1914 Norwegian, 45 ACP pistol as manufactured during WWII by the Kongsberg factory. These pistols were a close copy of the Model 1911 semi-automatic pistol intended for the Norwegian Army until the capture of the Government Arsenal at Kongsberg by the Germans in 1940. They were manufactured from 1940 to 1945, with this specific pistol falling into the late serial number range of the pistols delivered to Nazi Occupation Forces in 1945. The slide is marked with a Waffenamt "WaA84" proof, followed by: "11.25 m/m AUT. PISTOL M/1914/No. 30062" followed by a "Crown K" proof of the Kongsberg factory, with the right side dated 1945. On page 76 of Axis Pistols by Jan Still, he states the range of these Waffen Variation Norwegian M1914's to be in the serial range of 29621-30523, of which this example falls right in the middle of; 30062. It has a replacement "S" Code U.S. M1911A1 45 magazine with no lanyard loop on the base plate. These are very desirable pistols as very few were produced during the occupation, and production of these never really resumed after the war.

Rating Definition:

Excellent with 98% plus of the original wartime gray phosphate finish overall with extremely minor holster wear present on forward slide. The grips are very fine, showing a dark color overall with visible checkering with wear across the tops of the checkering mixed with some minor handling marks. An exceptional example of a desirable late WWII Nazi Occupation pistol.
