Made in 1975, information supplied by a previous owner state that this pistol was special ordered from Colt by noted collector Larry Mayle. Adjustable ramp blade front and notch rear sights, with the one line address on the left side of the barrel, "(Rampant Colt)/ WOODSMAN" on the frame and "COLT AUTOMATIC/ CAL.22 LONG RIFLE" on the slide. The entire metal surface, including the controls and small components, is finished in gold, with over 50% coverage of engraving, fine scroll and punch-dot work with floral accents. A subtle Fleur-de-Lis pattern is present on top of the barrel, just ahead of a chiseled zig-zag breech band, which is repeated as a border on top of the chamber, and an intertwined ribbon pattern on the backstrap. Equipped with a matching gold finished magazine and a pair of smooth, ambidextrous ivory grips.
