Manufactured between 1865 and 1888, this pistol is also known as the Saw Handle Deringer. Correct without markings (early production pistols were completely unmarked). The sides of the barrel feature zig zag line and circle pattern engraving with five small circles engraved on each side flat on the octagonal breech end of the barrel. Both sides of the frame feature factory stipple scroll engraving. The two digit serial number is stamped on the left side of the frame under the grip. The pistol is nickel finished a with niter blue trigger and hammer, has a post front and frame notch rear sights and fitted with smooth walnut grips.
Excellent. The pistol retains 90% plus original nickel finish with some scattered minor flaking. The grips are very fine with some minor dings and scratches. The hammer and trigger retain traces of original niter blue finish mixed with a smooth dark patina. The engraving is clear and crisp. Mechanically excellent.
