Manufactured in 1926. This is an example of a Winchester Model 1892 lever action rifle has a period custom checkered straight grip stock. The barrel is equipped with a beaded blade front sight and the rear sight has been removed with a Marble filler block added. The rifle also has a folding Marble tang sight. The upper left barrel flat is marked "-MODEL 92-WINCHESTER/TRADEMARK-38 W.C.F." and the upper right barrel flat is marked "MADE IN U.S.A. WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO./NEW HAVEN, CONN." behind the rear sight dovetail slot. The top of the barrel and receiver are stamped with a Winchester "WP" factory proof at the breech. The underside of the frame is stamped with the the serial number. The rifle has an all blue finish and is mounted with a nicely figured special order Winchester factory straight grip stock with checkered wrist and forearm. The checkering is the Style H variation. The rifle has a metal forend cap and a crescent buttplate. Deluxe Model 1892 rifles are usually found with checkered pistol grip stocks making this straight grip stock variation of a deluxe Model 92 rifle even rarer.
