The top of the barrel has the two line address and caliber marking (32 - 40). The barrel has been rerifled and rechambered to an unknown 40 caliber. The lower tang has the patent and serial number. The top tang has been tapped for sight mounting. Mounted on a smooth walnut forearm with ebony tip and straight grip stock with smooth curved steel buttplate.

Rating Definition:

Very good, 80% of the original blue finish remains with some gray patina emanating from the front sight dovetail, plum/brown patina along the bottom of the barrel, some scattered minor scratches and scattered minor dings. The sights have been replaced with the rear refinished. The casehardened components retain 25% of the original case colors mostly on the upper tang and left side of the receiver with a smooth silver gray or brown patina on the balance. The refinished wood is also very good with some scattered minor scratches, some scattered minor chips and some pressure dents. Not remarked to current cartridge.
