The lower left side of the receiver has the two line Hepburn 1879 patent marking with the serial number on the lower tang. Barrel is numbered to the gun. Checkered round knob pistol grip stock with smooth forearm, metal forend insert and iron carbine style buttplate.

Rating Definition:

Very good. The shortened barrel retains 30% faded original blue finish with the balance a smooth brown patina. The action retains 20% silvered out original case colors mostly in and around the protected areas. There is some light pitting overall and a couple gouges on the barrel. The refinished wood has a number of minor handling marks and some smooth checkering. Mechanically fine.
