This is a semi-automatic copy of the famous Russian RPD squad machine gun. These were the first true Squad Automatic Weapon which were so highly successful throughout Vietnam. This example was produced using a new made, semi-automatic rifle receiver combined with a Warsaw Pact/Soviet set of parts along with the correct number of U.S. made parts making it completely "922 compliant". It retains the belt-fed mechanism with the 100 round drum. It has the later pattern laminated type furniture; contoured handguard, ribbed pistol grip, and larger profile buttstock with butt-trap compartment. It is complete with the correct style spring loaded bipod, brown leather sling, one drum magazine and a 49-round disintegrating metal belt and cleaning rod.
