This is a very early example of a standard DWM Model 1900 Luger pistol. These were the real true fist issue/manufactured commercial luger pistol. These were intended for sales in Germany and Europe, however a considerable number were rerouted to the United States as this one was. It has the blank chamber and "DWM" monogram on the front toggle, with "Crown/B, G and U" proof marks on the underside of the barrel, with "GERMANY" stamped on the front of the frame above the serial number. The left side of the barrel extension is stamped with just the "Crown/B" proof next to a single "Crown" proofmark. It has the early features such as the: dished toggles with toggle lock, short grip safety, recessed bolt and tapered barrel. It had a high polished blue finish with the straw colored small parts, with the polished lower safety position with the first type checkered safety lever. It is fitted with checkered walnut grips and is complete with an original early nickel plated magazine with an unmarked wood base.
Very fine with 85% plus of the original blue finish overall with wear on the edges and high spots. Straw colors remain 40% intact. The grips are in fine condition with nice distinct checkering on both sides with some light wear across the tops of the checkering. Mechanically excellent. A very fine early DWM M1900 Commercial Luger.
