According to the included factory letter, this revolver was part of a lot of 200 revolvers presented to the government inspector (David F. Clark) on September 16, 1885, in 45 caliber with blue finish and "Not Listed" grips and barrel length. Fixed sights with the one line elongated block Hartford address, "D.F.C." (David F. Clark) and "P" on the barrel. The Clark stamp is repeated on the cylinder and "US" marked frame, with "G" on the underside of the trigger guard and back strap and "181" on the loading gate. Fitted with a set of smooth one piece ivory grips.

Rating Definition:

Very good as refinished, showing 40% of the glossy blue. Areas of gray and brown patina and scattered handling marks overall. A number of scratches are present on the cylinder, which is numbered "120934". Grips are good with a thin vertical split in the right side, mild age cracks and an attractive grain and color overall. Hammer sits a bit low in the safety notch, with a bit of play in the cylinder, but otherwise the revolver is mechanically good.
